Members of the halfling Macetail tribe found a young kobold wandering out of the Boneyards of the Talenta Plains. Not knowing what she was and thinking her some sort of mutant clawfoot, they took her back to their tribe and presented her to their lath as a gift. He in turn gave her to his son as a pet. She was raised as such until she began to speak and the tribe realized she wasn’t at all what they’d thought. Several travelers passing through the tribe’s lands identified her as a kobold.
After that revelation, her tribe named her Tris and she insisted on keeping the Clawfoot as her second name from familiarity. They raised her as a sort of sister-pet to the lath’s son. She learned to use the Talenta boomerang with him and discovered a natural talent with the weapons, eventually coming to dual-wield the small weapons.
She is naive and very trusting, following _ around as a companion. She travels with him because she is still in some way his pet, and because she thinks that traveling is fun. There are so many new objects and foods to see in other places! She very much enjoys eating and gets excited at the prospect of the next meal.
Several of her less savory habits include picking her nose when she isn’t paying attention and flicking the results in any given direction and smoking dried herbs, which has left her with slightly stained teeth and an annoying throat clearing. She avoids baths whenever she can, believing that it’s not natural to bathe and her normal damp dog/stagnant water odor is just fine. It’s hard for her to throw anything away, especially raised in the Plains where a trader might not pass through for a long time.
As is normal for her species, she sheds once a season over the course of a week. She also polishes her horns, claws, and teeth in her spare time.
